Spring At Emerald Lake, Yoho National Park

Emerald Lake, in Yoho National Park, is a classic beauty. Discovered accidentally over 100 years ago by a famous European mountain guide named Tom Wilson, while he was searching for his horses who went astray.

It is a destination that will never cease to impress you with its natural splendours. With spring having arrived, things are beginning to melt and seemingly come to life again. It is always amazing to watch the transformation of nature every year. Especially if you make sure to always take the time to stop and appreciate it all.

In the summer Emerald lake is so magical, with the sun glistening over the aquamarine water, creating a vibrant iridescent colour that can drop your jaw and ignite your soul.

The snow and ice-covered lake and mountain peaks, of winter and spring, are equally as picturesque as they come and also known to be some of the most impressive in the Rocky Mountains. With the lakes claim to fame being the stunning emerald colour of the water, one might think that it would be quiet during the off-season months.

However, that is not the case what so ever. As you stroll the paths, taking in the sunshine and spectacular views, there are plenty of other nature enthusiasts paying a visit to this unforgettable spot all throughout the various seasons.

20180430_150540.jpg

On this fine spring day, the birds were chirping, and the flies were buzzing around. Two clear indications that summer is on its way. As opposed to what mother nature is making people think when winter seems to be lingering well into spring. Don’t you worry, I am certain, summer is right around the corner.

I do love all of the seasons, I think the only thing that gets a bit hard is the lingering when seasons are supposed to change.

The Emerald Lake Lodge which is situated right beside the lake is actually open all year round, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area during every season. In the winter it is known for its cross-country skiing, and in the summer for its canoeing and hiking.

Let me just say, the thought of a nice cabin style room, with a warm fire blazing in the corner on a chilly spring night, truly seems so appealing.

Emerald Lake is a breathtaking place, with endless beauty to be appreciated, rain, shine or snow. An absolute must see if you find yourself in the area on a beautiful spring day.

5 tips to simplify your life, live minimally, and feel free

Freedom feels so good. In fact, for myself, it is one of the best feelings in the world. One of the best ways to create more freedom in your life so to simplify your life, and live minimally.

Having and creating more space in your life means you will have more space for new and amazing things to come in. Such as more travel, flexibility to enjoy a little more spontaneity, more money, and peace of mind in general.

Over the years I have downsized more and more. It seems every time I would leave the country to go travelling, I would come home only to downsize even more. Bit by bit my materials became less and less.

Although it is not just about minimizing your materials, it is also about clearing the space in your mind. It all goes hand in hand.  But, by simplifying your life and all the various facets of it, you will free up your whole space, and welcome so much more awesome energy into your life.

By taking actions steps everyday to free up your life, it becomes easier and you naturally become in alignment within yourself. When you are in alignment, life won’t just give you lemons, it will give you the whole lemonade stand and a helper.

Here are 5 tips that have been tried, tested and proven true in my life to simplify and create so much more freedom.

  1. Reduce Clutter – I feel like this is self-explanatory, however, it can be so easy to let things build up, and before you know, there is just stuff all around you. I find that not only does meaningless stuff create stagnant energy in our lives, but it also blocks our creative flow. Anything that is just lying around and taking up space, can go. Unless something it has sentimental value, it is not necessary to keep around. Out the door, it goes for me.
  2. Think Before You Buy – ‘Do I really need this, or do I simply want it?!’ That is the question I so often hear myself saying. We have all done it, seen something shiny and pretty, and decided right on the spot that we had to have it, only to get it and have it accumulate dust. Never to be used, and only to be a space taker. When I come across something I like, that I wasn’t in the market to get, I always have a good think about it first. The majority of the time, I will leave and go think about it for a day or more. If a few days pass and I am still thinking about it, then I will go back and get it, and if it was still there waiting for me, it was meant to be, and if it is gone, then it wasn’t meant to be in my life. That helps keep the clutter down in my life.
  3. Choose Experiences Over Stuff – less stuff means more adventure. I don’t know about you, but I live for adventure and awesome experiences. It is so much more enriching then mass amounts of material stuff. My experiences that I have had around the globe are priceless, and if having less stuff means more of that, then I am in it for the long haul. Plus the less money you spend on stuff the more money you can spend on travel and adventure.
  4. Make A List And Be A Doer – accomplishing things just feels so satisfying. No matter where I am, I love being a doer. When you make a list, it helps you visualize exactly what you want to achieve, and will be a sure way for you not to forget everything, it also pushes you to be a doer. You get things done and don’t let things pile up in life. When you let things pile up, it wears a person down, as you are always in a stress state of having way too much to do. Placing those check marks beside the things you finished, feels so good.
  5. Forgive And Release – emotional clutter is a thing. When we hold on to negative feelings or resentment, it holds us back and stops the flow in our life. A lot of time it’s about forgiving ourselves over others. It is so easy to be hard on ourselves, blaming ourselves for our hardships, putting ourselves down for not being as far along in our pursuits as we would like. Also, when we feel others have wronged us, and purposely did negative things towards us, it is all too easy to point fingers and hang onto anger and resentment towards them. The reality is, these feeling are truly only hurting ourselves. By forgiving and releasing the situation, whether it is towards yourself or someone else, and doing it sincerely and from your heart, you open a massive space for amazing energy to flow into your life. That doesn’t mean you need to keep anyone in your life that is holding you down, but you can still forgive and let it go. Total freedom is what lies on the other side of holding on.

When you create space in your life for more freedom, whether that is time freedom, mental freedom, emotional freedom, financial freedom, and so on – whatever it is that freedom is to you, you open up your energy space to many more wonders of life. When you are not bogged down by clutter in all it’s various forms, you then are standing up tall and reeling in the highest and most fulfilling life you can imagine.

For me, I love having the freedom to pack up at the drop of a hat and go explore the world. I love having the freedom to go and help people when they are in need, and I love to have the mental freedom to enjoy life to the fullest.

Freedom, feels amazing.

Spring Rejuvenation With Some TLC At Inner Balance Spa

Nurturing my body, going the extra mile to promote healing and restoration, particularly after winter, it’s something I don’t falter on. After all, if you love your body, it will love you back.

Exfoliation and detox play a large part in my daily self-care regime. It is so important to renew our skin, lymphatic system, and promote overall renewal in our bodies as a whole. Plus, it keeps your skin and body youthful and supple for so much longer in life.

I am a massive advocate of dry skin brushing for that exact reason, and I do it on the daily, which I talk about, it, and all it’s benefits here.

Although sometimes, a person needs a little extra pampering and an even deeper exfoliation. Done by someone other than yourself. Especially when spring has sprung! Well according to the calendar. If you look outside mother nature may tell you a different story, as she is a trickster around here.

Lately, my self-care routine has brought on a bit of an infrared sauna addiction.

I wanted to take my spring detox to another level. After doing some research to find a little oasis that had the amenities I was looking for, I came across Inner Balance Spa, which is located in the Kensington area of Calgary.

It immediately stuck out to me as it is eco-friendly and all the products they use are derived from natural and organic ingredients.

Anyone who knows me knows that I live a life of natural living and healing as much as possible, so this made Inner Balance Spa an A+ in my books already.

For those reasons, it was my spa of choice for some rejuvenation.

I found the decor and atmosphere very welcoming.

It is bright, ambient, and immediately brings a wave of relaxation over you when you walk in.

I was loving the wide variety of organic skin care products, including a fine line of natural make-up, as well as a beautiful line of essential oils, which infuse the room with an incredible healing scent.

I pretty much want one of everything on those perfectly laid out displays.

You seriously can not take me anywhere near the top of the line natural skin and beauty products. I am a minimalist in most things, except when it comes to my self-care and the products I use on and in my body.

The infrared sauna room is very warming to the soul and has an extremely therapeutic feeling all in itself.

The sauna also has light therapy built in, and you can change the colours to your specific needs.

There is a print out which tells you what each colour corresponds with healing-wise in your body. It is very enjoyable to switch it up to your individual needs. I was in my happy place.

Sauna

With a shower located right in the sauna room, and some of their organic body wash and lotion there for you to test out, the infrared sauna session soon feels like a mini spa day.

It was apparent to me, that all of the staff are highly trained. Their services range from massage, facials, body scrubs, infrared sauna, onward to acupuncture, and even nutritional consulting.

With so many great treatments to choose from, it is hard to narrow down a selection. I did contemplate a package, as they have fabulous packages on offer, as well as a ‘refreshment of the month’ package. Decisions, decisions.

Although, I was just looking to get a nice deep exfoliation to rid my skin of all the winter build up, and renew my body for spring. So, I booked in for their basic body scrub called ‘The Renewal’. The name said it all, and even though I say it is the basic choice, it by no means feels basic.

It is a 45-minute process that includes a body scrub + body polish + a 10-minute steam + an organic apricot oil moisturizing treatment.

MIB11

The quaint and cozy steam room is built into the shower that is also located directly in your treatment room, so it provides perfect convenience.

After a detailed scrub down and polish, which feels absolutely incredible, you then step into the steam to help open your pores and take the nourishment in even deeper.

I loved the steam! It not only feels good on the skin, but it feels great on the lungs too. I easily could have stayed in there longer than 10 minutes.

After my steam room session, I was back on the table for the application of the apricot oil moisturizing treatment.

Oh my word, the smell of that oil was absolutely intoxicating, and the feel of my skin was total silk!

I left this treatment feeling divine. My whole energy and being felt lighter and refreshed. Not only is spring in the air, but I felt like I had a spring in my step.

I am a firm believer in body scrubs as part of my self-care now.

I would highly suggest everyone get one. Male or female.

If you want to maintain a silky smooth glow all your year round, I was recommended to receive a body scrub 4 times a year, once with each season.

All the details are covered at Inner Balance Spa. They even have an array of fresh complimentary teas on offer to soothe your soul from the inside.

I am so happy with my choice to visit Inner Balance Spa, and even more grateful for the great detail they put into their clients and into my own experience there. Total refreshment every time. Having been part of the Calgary community for 15 years, you can see that their articulate detail and above and beyond service is what has made them a mainstay gem.

My journey through a 5 day juice cleanse

Cleaning out the pipes is very necessary sometimes. Since spring is on the way, I figured we could call it a spring cleaning of my body. Get her primed and ready for an awesome summer! I can’t help but love doing fantastic things for my body and giving it so much love and gratitude for all that it does for me.

I add cleansing additions to my daily regime in so many different ways.

I make it a point to ingest some super foods every day, I supplement with the highest quality nutritional supplements in the world from Usana, I have one or two veggie smoothies a day, I eat as clean as possible, and I exercise and do yoga. Our bodies are made to heal and repair, so I just do what I can to support that natural process. Plus, I do believe in moderation! So treat times obviously happen. I like to keep that healthy balance.

That being said, there are those times where I feel like my body needs a little extra support.

It needs me to assist it a little deeper.

Anytime I feel that way, I know it’s time for a juice cleanse. Pure fresh veggie(and a little fruit) juice for 5 – 7 days, in addition to my supplements and a daily dose of Chlorella to clean out my blood.

When we totally empty our bodies and infuse our blood with pure nutrients – magical things start to happen.

Firstly, when our bodies don’t have to focus on breaking things down, it can then focus on healing and repairing other areas that are screaming for attention.

When our body is constantly digesting, our blood needs to flow there and our subconscious mind needs to be assisting there also. When we cut the digestion part out for a short period of time, it is an open field for our bodies to do what it needs to do!

Plus after a few days of juicing you will suddenly experience a clarity of mind like none other. You feel so fresh, light and alive.

Let’s get real though. It can be hard as heck to not have solids! Because we are so programmed to eat solid food every day, our minds will try and tell us that is what we want, that is what we need. Also, when your cells are purging all of the accumulated garbage, it is not always fun. Nope, not at all. The damage we put into our bodies is always worse coming out.

Lightheadedness, foggy headedness, fatigue, diarrhea, emotional rollercoasters, are all just a few of the things you could possibly experience. If you are new to cleansing it can freak you out and make you question if you want to go through with it or not. ‘Ummm, should I be feeling this way?!’

Everything in life is mind over matter. We are in control of our actions, and we can power through. If you can keep your mindset strong, and focus on your ‘why’, you will make it over that hurdle on to where you will feel better then you ever have in your life. The sweet reward.

This 5 day juice cleanse took 2 shopping hauls. We opted for wholesale grocers, as you can get a heck of a lot more for your money than a regular grocery store.

Our fridge was looking mighty fine after a good haul if I do say so myself.

20180309_190026.jpg

Day 1 and we were eager as heck to get going. Mindset on point!

20180309_190118.jpg

We were ready to just jump right on in, but as the day progressed it was a little hard.

I was hungry, not going to lie, I wanted some darn food.  We both did actually.

My mind was screaming, ‘Feed me!! Why on earth are you doing this to me?! What did I do to deserve this?’

But I was able to prevail.

Day 2 and I woke up feeling great, then I crashed a bit, then I was starving and foggy headed, then I felt AMAZING, and then I hit a hard wall at 7 pm. I was hungry and ended up on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, questioning my whole life and what I am doing with it.

I wasn’t the only one.

IMG_20180226_172633_248.jpg

Yes, it was interesting. But! It was nothing another fresh juice couldn’t fix. Literally within a few minutes of chugging a juice, and I was back in action.

Day 3 was super easy! Other then some hunger, I rocked it! Come the evening I was pretty tired, but then suddenly I got that second wind and couldn’t sleep. That is one thing about this, it has kept me up way too late every night…. Like my juice-fueled blood was just pumping away and giving me ridiculous amounts of evening energy.

IMG_20180228_223823_199.jpg IMG_20180227_174702_698.jpg

Day 4 I felt great! And then suddenly in the afternoon I was overcome with exhaustion and felt like I was not going to be able to keep my eyes open.

IMG_20180302_161746_401.jpg

It did pass, but then I decided I would try and be social and took up an invitation to visit the museum.

Let me tell you, trying to be social while on a juice cleanse is not easy! When you are walking around public and there are a million different smells, and even though they are not something that would normally smell appealing, they suddenly DO smell appealing. Geez, talk about a challenge!

A few hours in, and I was in dire need of some sustenance, I was famished! And you can’t drink in the museum, so there was a bit there when I was suffering and losing my ambition.

Funny enough though, as soon as we left the museum and it came time to drink my juice, the feeling had passed. Isn’t that just the way it works?!

I was pretty darn proud of myself for being social on my cleanse though!

Day 5 and I was feeling pretty accomplished. I was also feeling clear-headed, light, fresh and energized. Normally once you get to day 5 of a cleanse you feel like you can keep on going no problem. This time, however, this was not the case.

I was totally craving food and excited to have food. I just needed to power through the last day and not think about food.

IMG_20180227_223448_636.jpg

All in all, I felt so incredible from doing this. Everything in my body just felt shiny and new! Aside from getting hangry, it was pretty easy and well worth it!

Happy Juicing!

Coffee and kitty cuddles at the Regal Cat Cafe

I love animals. Not just cats, but like seriously, all animals. I just think they are all so interesting, and we can always learn so much from each individual species.

I remember when I first started doing volunteer projects deep in the jungles of Central and South America – I was totally enamoured with all of the animals and crazy insects. Let’s remember, when I am talking jungles, I am also talking a crazy amount of living creatures. As well as bugs that are 10 times the size of what one is used to seeing. Everything is amplified in the jungle. The jungle is also an incredible place. Life in the jungle is basic but rich beyond measure.

Then there was Africa. Oh, glorious Africa. Seeing the Big 5 is something that never gets’s old, and also something you will never forget. I remember how majestic it was to watch lions, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and all of the other incredible animals in Africa. It sings to your soul. In fact, just writing about it, is awakening my travel bug(which isn’t hard) and making me want to go back(which also isn’t hard).

Okay, snap me back to reality and into the snowy cold here in Calgary, Alberta. Now unless we go to the Zoo, I won’t be seeing no Big 5 around here. Although a quick adventure outside the city to the mountains, and there is also plenty of Canadian wildlife to appreciate – and when the roads are terrible from the winter conditions, then there is always the little gem known as Regal Cat Cafe right in the heart of Kensington.

20180219_142615.jpg

I was totally taken by the concept of this cafe. All of the cats here abandoned and are now rescue cats up for adoption. They have their shots and all health matters in order and get to be in this amazing and loving social environment, while they await their new family.

20180219_142056.jpg

Since I wanted a coffee right Meow, it seemed like and easy decision for an afternoon destination.

They absolutely have the cat theme down pat. With everything from clothing, trinkets, onward to kitty macaroons. It makes it fun for the whole family.

20180219_142146.jpg

Seriously, who wouldn’t love a kitty macaroon?! I don’t even like to eat very much sugar in my life, and I was all over it!

Down the hatch!

20180219_144652.jpg

For $10 you can go in and play with the kitties for 45 min. If it’s not busy then they will not shoo you out the door right at the 45-minute mark. If you’re having too much fun in kitty heaven on a quiet day, then you can stay a bit longer. All the proceeds go to helping maintain the cats and their environment.

I swear every cat I met in there was friendly as heck. So much love in one little room.

20180219_141641.jpg

20180219_141853.jpg

IMG_20180213_152636_925.jpg

When we arrived the sign said 143 cats were adopted to loving homes, and when we left the sign was at 144. It’s hard not to adopt a little feline friend when you’re in there.

20180219_141725.jpg

Nothing like getting my caffeine fix to the soothing sound of purring.

IMG_20180213_153033_660.jpg

This was bar far one of the coolest cafe’s I have been to. It’s a win-win sorta place, they do good deeds here, so the energy is high vibe and on point.

20180213_143815.jpg

What a purrrfect afternoon.

Top 5 Travel Memorabilia I Found While Doing A Deep Winter Cleaning Of My Life

Here I am doing a complete overhaul in my life. Cleaning it out, making space for new energy, getting rid of the clutter – when I suddenly started coming across some hidden gems. I think that is a given when you are cleaning out old clutter, you will always find some treasures tucked away.

Some more exciting than others, and in this instance I was pretty excited to find these items. It gave me a chance to reminisce with some of the best times of my life. When I was doing some of the most incredible adventures.

Here are the top 5 things I found on my cleaning adventures in my house.

1– My finds began with my very first travel back pack. I remember searching and searching for the perfect back pack for me. At that time, it was my first trip leaving Canada, so I wasn’t so knowledgeable about the qualities I personally needed in a good backpack. However, after trying on at least 30, I finally decided on this one.

20171106_171610.jpg
I bet a bit of that dirt is from Africa. Maybe a deep clean of the backpack is in order.

This exact back pack ended up coming with me across Central and South America, over to Europe, and then straight across Africa, from South Africa to Egypt. It was my mobile home for many years, and a few different continents. There were times I hated it, like when I had to hike mountains with it, or walk very long distances, and the straps would start to dig hard into my shoulders, or the times it wouldn’t fit all of my stuff inside. All in all though, I loved it. We always made it in the end. We were a travel team. We went everywhere together.

20171106_170410.jpg
Ok, it was alot fuller(like ALOT) when on the road.

2 – My next find was my first Spanish lesson book.

20171106_171748.jpg

Looking a bit tattered now, it also did some long treks through Central and South America with me. It all began after I completed my first volunteer project in Central America, and the organization I was with offered me a position as a Group Leader.

There were some requirements though, and one of those requirements was for me to speak Spanish. I was determined to be a Group Leader, so I assured them I would learn Spanish. I spent hours looking at every kit the book store had to offer, trying my utmost to find the perfect kit for me. Finally I chose the kit which included this book.

3 – My first MP3 player, which I had transferred all the CD’s from the language kit on as I was off back to a English speaking project in South America. Three months later, practicing day in and day out in my hammock in the Jungle, I could speak Spanish.

20171106_171627.jpg

Yes at this time MP3 players were all the rage. Now they seem to be ancient history. I used this MP3 player to the full extent, although now it seems strange how limited my music collection was back then with only this little bad boy to fill. Think about how many times I replayed those same songs on there. Over, and over and over…… Well you get the pic.

Once I started traveling I didn’t stop. Flash forward 12 years later, and this is the first time since then I have spent over a full year in Canada since I began, and now I am getting more eager then ever to get back out there. My travel bug is gnawing, and there ain’t no putting him back to sleep.

That aside, it became very important to me to try and learn as many bits of languages as I could, especially when I arrive to a new country with a new language. As long as I could at least say hello, please, and thank you to begin with. I always felt it was only proper manners and culturally appropriate to show the effort to speak a small portion of the local language. People always treat you better for it and totally show their appreciation for your effort.

4/5 – So these two pieces of paper from various language lessons brought a big smile to my face.

This one was from when I was living in Africa and learning Swahili with some of the local women in Tanzania.

20171106_171647.jpg

I had such a blast meeting with the local women everyday, exchanging cultures and languages. African women can be very shy and reserved, but I would never failed to have them all cracking up and laughing, completely coming out of their shells. I love watching people open up.

This other piece was from when I met and ended up traveling with a couple Israeli’s for a stint of time.

20171106_171728.jpg

As they were always speaking Hebrew together, I figured I should hop on the band wagon and try and join in. I felt like part of the posse when I could throw a few words in. Even though my pronunciation could be quite entertaining at times.

Oh look they even taught me how to tell someone they are sexy. Clearly, A must know in every language.

20171106_171706.jpg

What can I say?! You never know when you will come across a fine specimen that you need to compliment. Best to be prepared for all situations.

I absolutely love learning new languages, it is one of my favorite past times. I just wish I had a piece of paper from all the lessons I have ever gotten. Alas, these two do a great job of bringing me back. Can you say Scrap book?? I have a collection of things that I intend on scrap booking soon.

How awesome is it to find memorabilia?! The energy attached to these pieces that have traveled the globe with me is pretty amazing. I feel like it would make it difficult for me part with them. Perhaps I should keep them in case I ever open a museum. Or I will just keep them so I can reminisce again sometime.

Heck yes to stumbling across some of your favorite memorabilia that you have never really lost yet somehow once again found?

A Culinary Journey At The Workshop In YYC

Wining and dining is one of my favorite past times. A great group of friends having endless laughs and good chat while sharing fine food, and sipping on superb wine in a classy atmosphere. What culinary dreams are made of. The culinary scene in Calgary is pretty impressive and I am always on the hunt for unique places that stand out from the rest.

Recently I had the supreme pleasure of enjoying an incredible culinary journey at the WorkshopLocated in the heart of downtown Calgary right inside the Theater Junction Grand, boasting the perfect combination of the Arts Culture as well as Culinary Culture – it is a pure gem.

I love the feeling of walking into a theater, we all know it. It is a feeling of excitement, and cultural history, beckoning you inside with its antique feel. Yes, I was absolutely already diggin the feel of it when I reached the front doors.

The restaurant is very open and airy, split on either side of the entrance to the actual theater.

img_5941

With the decor being that of an actual workshop – and a classy one at that. Building things was a hobby of mine growing up, so the workshop feel was quite appealing to me.

img_5942

We were warmly welcomed and upon being seated we were then given a great in depth briefing about the history of the place.

img_5938

I was amazed to learn that the theater itself was built in 1912, being now just over 100 years old. At the time the theater was considered the biggest and best in the Pacific Northwest. It is now a place where art can be expressed in multiple forms, from all areas of life. The Workshop and the Theater are two separate outfits, yet combine perfectly as one.

We clearly got into the wine from the get go. There is no messing around when it comes to myself and my love of wine.

I decided on a bottle of French Rose. I do love a good Rose!

Red, white, rose, who am I to judge really?! I love them all. Particularly Rose from French vineyards, however I have enjoyed some very fine Rose’s from North America now as well. Three of us arrived prior to everyone else, and being famished, we just ‘had’ to get right in there with some sort of snack to get us going. I suppose the excitement was also getting the better of us.

Because of the high recommendation given to us, we chose the Fried Cauliflower with garlic, green olive and Harissa aoili.  As well as the Seared Scallop with pickled potato, pork cheek, charred radish and serrano broth.

Wow, it was truly delicious!! I love vegetables, and particularly cauliflower, and with the aoili(which we eat alot of in Spain), it was the perfect compliment. Seriously ridiculous. The scallop was perfectly flavored and melted in your mouth like butter.

So far this culinary journey was off to a dreamy start.

Literally it was so darn good we had to order seconds of the cauliflower. Along side some Albacore tuna poke and the Bulgogi beef tartare.

Both beautifully presented and flavored, I myself however was more partial to the Tuna. I love fish though.

The service was impeccable, and the wine was flowing like a river. Just the way we like it.

img_4040

Not only were we being provided with top notch service, we were also being entertained as heck by our server. He really was amazing.

I was pretty stuffed from all those appetizers we indulged in, so for the main, I shared an order of  the Parmesan Cream Gnocci and the Spicy Maple Brussel Sprouts. Two of my absolute favorite foods on this planet. img_5959

I loved every bite. Just when you thought the food couldn’t get better – it then it got better.

The others shared the BBQ pork loin and Pork Belly, accompanied with some cumin roasted yam.

img_5962 With the amount of ‘this is so good’ that was coming out of their mouths, I was pretty certain that they were enjoying tantalizing their taste buds. You can see the effort and taste the passion that goes into every dish there.

img_3998

Long behold just when we thought we were at capacity, dessert arrived, and so did the Chef.

We were treated to their three house made desserts. Fallen chocolate souffle with cherry compote, hazelnut crumble, and malted stout ice cream. Fresh berries with citrus genoise, muscat sabayon, and pink peppercorn shatter. Last but not least, Lemon semi freddo, with torched italian meringue, blueberry compote and sugar cookie.

img_4034 How in the heck can you say no to dessert when it’s put right in front of you and boasting with artistic fresheness?! Well, you can’t. You just can’t.
